About β hello π
Iβm Julia β a product designer and builder based in London.
I studied software engineering before going on to an MSc in Design. This double background means I think about products from both sides: how they should feel to use, and how to actually build them. Over the past few years I've worked across product design, UX research, front-end development, design systems, branding, and UX writing β picking up whatever the project needed.
Titles like design engineer, full-stack designer, or forward-deployed engineer are all getting closer to describing what I do, but none of them quite land. What matters more to me than the label is the work itself β building things I'm proud of, with people who care about what they're making.
I've built for clients in fashion, healthcare, hospitality, and education. Most recently I led the full redesign and redevelopment of a university student union platform. I'm currently working on my own products on the side β and actively looking for my next full-time role in product design or design engineering.

Beyond the work
Off the clock
Outside of work, you'll find me running/cycling around Victoria Park, exploring new corners of Europe, hosting mahjong nights, or making dumplings from scratch in my kitchen. I also make the occasional tech tutorial video when I find something worth explaining.
